A train that runs around underground with 842 miles of tracks. OK, what sci fi movie was that from? Nope, it’s no made up movie -- I’m barkin’ about our New York subway system. I’m proud as puppy chow over it. For $2.25 I can get from my hood in the Upper West Side all the way down to Battery Park quick as a Jack Russell terrier. A car could take forever. A car? What’s a car?
Commuters going down the rabbit hole. Even Alice couldn't have dreamed up this one.
On the New York Metro (the other name for our subway) you can even go from the city to the ocean at Coney Island and Brighton Beach. How amazing is that? Kinda like “I Dream Of Jeannie” -- instead of wiggling your nose, you just hop the subway. Of course, it can get crowded and sometimes the train is late, but hey, if I can do it -- anyone can do it.
With the new 72nd St. subway station, wouldn't the old one would make a fab dog house?
$2.25 to ride around NYC? You can't buy a latte for that. OK, what's a latte?
If this weather dog gig doesn't work out, I can always get a job as a paper-dog.
When folks are sniffing around for real estate, being close to a metro stop is like waterfront property. It sure makes your life easier being able to hop on a subway come rain or come shine. I live really close to the Lincoln Center subway stop. On my way to the subway I can go to Starbucks, stop by Barnes & Noble, check out the Juilliard School of Music and hop on a subway. On the way to the 72nd St. subway, I like to stop and play with my friend, Maggie Bell. She travels alot. She’s bi-coastal.
Maggie Bell's apartment is right near the subway. She has lots of fun toys too.
So, unlike living in the burbs or country and having to drive a car to get around, which is very “ruff” for me since I can’t see over the steering wheel, the New York City subway makes it so easy to get around. If I can do it, even you, Oregon Bill, can do it!
You’ve gotta visit NYC.
