Yorkie Sniffs Around The Farmer’s Market

by Schmitty on August 6, 2009

When  you think of New York City, what comes to mind?  Theatre, skyscrappers,  farmers . . . farmers?  Yup, farmers.   All over NYC, there is this really cool organization called Greenmarket that operates farmers markets.  Over 200 farmers bring in really fresh, really healthy fruits, veggies, baked goods and other yummy stuff that is grown in the region to  sell to us apartment animals.   Ya want to chow down on a juicy, organic red tomato -- stop at your local farmer’s market and be prepared to go wild.  Farms delivering fresh produce.  Now that’s the ultimate take out.

Go to http://www.cenyc.org/greenmarket to read some really cool info.  I may be just a five pound pooch, but I find these farmers markets amazing.  We urban pups  get to eat really yummy, fresh food and in return farmers get to keep their farms open and still be farmers.  How cool is that?

Farmers Markets - there everywhere.

When you take a pic of Nina & Grace from Bobolink Dairy - do they say cheese?

On my way home from doing my weather report at the farmer’s market -- look what I found on the sidewalk at the  Regis & Kelly Show . . .
