Yorkie: Free Things in Pet Friendly NYC!

by Schmitty on March 24, 2010

Think spring cleaning is just for humans?    Think again.    Even blog pics and things floating around in my head can pile up and become blog clutter.   So, that said, today’s is my Mutt Blog -- a little bit of everything about free things to do in NYC.

Wanna hear some fun music in NYC for free?  Yup, free.   Well, head to Central Park (Or Central Bark as I like to call it Arf-Arf!)  and find your way to the  Band Shell.    That’s where you can hear this really gr-r-reat traditional jazz band called Tin Pan.  You’ll find them playing most days in the spring/summer in good weather.

Yeah, just makin' the hang with the boys in the band.

Speaking/barking about Central Park -- remember my weather report from a pile of snow in Central Park in 65° weather last Friday?

Take your pup to Central Park, Riverside Park or any of the fab parks in NYC and who knows who you might meet.    Of course I would suggest you do this during daylight hours.   Here’s a pic of Meteorologist Ron Trotta & me with some nice humans from across the pond in England.   Where the Yorkshire Terrier hails from they tell me.    OK, what did I just say?

Snow in shirtsleeves? Bloomin' awesome!

In the snow in shirt sleeves? Bloomin' lovely!

Then some chillin’ with some nice chaps from China  . . . say that fast 3X’s.  Arf-Arf!

All I wanna know - do snowballs squeak?

Could this be the last snowball in NYC?

Here’s some silly pics at the New York St. Patrick’s Day Parade.  Never a dull moment in NYC!    Start making your reservations for March 17th, 2011 now.

Green shamrocks on faces? And u think us dogs are crazy. Arf-Arf!

Shamrocks on faces and whiskers on kittens . . . everybody sing!

Yikes - who invented bagpipes?

Ouch - who invented bagpipes?

I’ve been barking on all my blogs that New York City is very pet friendly.    So, why leave your pup behind?    Humans who live and work here hire dogs walkers walk their dogs.

Pack of pampered dogs in NYC.

"A pack a day" used to refer to ciggies! Arf-Arf!

Of course, shopping is awesome in NYC.   And most stores are pet friendly.

One sure sign of spring -- a wedding.    Take a walk around any of the parks in NYC and you may be asked to be the best man or man’s best friend.   Whatever.

Wow -- spring cleaning makes ya feel so much better.   And reminds me of some of the fun, free pet friendly things to do in New York City.   Love that!   So, ya gotta visit NYC.   It’s magic in the spring.   And bring your pooch.   The flowers smell great.

Arf-Arf,

Schmitty

PS. Don’t forget to check in daily for my weather reports.  Meteorologist Ron Trotta will be adding a new weather page to my blog  -- I’m so excited I could just pee.  And if you click on the “Subscribe” box right up there in the right hand corner, you will get my blog and weather reports every time they’re posted.  How cool is that?

Hi Schmitty!

I can’t believe you still had some snow there in NYC! In Chicago, ours melted. I might be coming to NYC this summer! Maybe we can meet up for lunch and a run in the park!
