Schmitty The Weather Dog: My Excellent Macy’s Parade Adventure

You’re not going to believe this, but I was in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.  Unofficially, but I was in it.  How you may ask?  Here’s the poop.

It all started when my weather partner in crime, Meteorologist Ron Trotta found out the Purdue All-American Marching Band was going to be in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.  Being that Purdue is his alma mater and he is a former bass drummer in the marching band (in dog years that would have been a gizzillion years ago! BOL!) he decided it was his (and my) mission to pawcast the weather with the Purdue band at the parade.

Our journey started on the day before Thanksgiving — doing a weather pawcast at the Macy’s Balloon Inflation station on 81st St and CPW.

It was there that we met Robin Hall, top dog of the whole Macy’s Day Parade for the past ten years.  He’s one nice human and it’s his last year to be pack leader, so how lucky were we.
